La mala acústica del aula resulta frustrante tanto para los estudiantes como para los profesores, según la Sociedad Estadounidense de Acústica, en muchas aulas de Estados Unidos se puede perder hasta el 25% de la información debido al ruido y al eco excesivo y esto no debe ser muy distinto a lo que pasa en nuestro país.

Una mala acústica en el aula afecta negativamente al aprendizaje. Las fuentes de ruido en el salón de clases pueden ser:

???? El ruido interior como la ventilación, abanicos, el aire acondicionado, retroproyectores, las computadoras, entre otros.

???? Las paredes, techos y suelos que no estén adecuadamente aislados también pueden contribuir al ruido.

???? Los ruidos externos como el tráfico de carros, buses y aviones.

Los déficits en lectura y lenguaje debidos a una mala acústica en las aulas son acumulativos; por lo tanto, los efectos de una mala acústica en el aula puede tener efectos devastadores sobre todo para los estudiantes más jóvenes.
